Rep Power: 2 Supporting: Arsenal Footballers: Tony Adams | Recommend me a great RPG game So school year is almost over and I'm thinking about starting up some RPGs again over the summer (havent touched my PS2 since beginning of this school year).
So among some good ones i heard about is Xenosaga I-III and Final Fantasy XII
So here's my priority list
1. Storyline: I want a super dramatic story. I I want the sad parts to be sad enough to make Chuck Norris cry. I want the happy parts to be happy enough to make the devil come out of his underground cavern and plant me a big wet kiss. I want the twists to be suspenseful enough so it makes Bush's hypocritical acts seem like me stealing candy from a baby. I hope you got the point.
2. Gameplay: The preffered gameplay style is Final Fantasy-ish but other styles will do as long as the storyline's great. But nothing crappy... like a game that uses lacks weapons
3. Music: I want a tearjerker. I want to cry every time i hear this piece. 'Nuff said.
4. Girls (interestingly enough the least important of the importants): I want hot game girls that will make me pay attention to the storyline. I want to pop a boner while enjoying the story. The storyline will make me sad enough to cry but i'll be having a joygasm at the same time. Some great examples? KosMos from Xenosaga (don't assume i've played this though), Riku from Final Fantasy X-2, the mature Kairi from Kingdom Hearts II, etc.
This sounds like i'm wanting the perfect game. Well yes, i do. Or at least as close as it's gonna get to being perfect. So tell me what rpg you liked most and is worth playing, with some pros cons and lots and lots of comments about it if you have the time.
Also, it'd be a lot better if the game was more recent, like for the PSII, no PSI. I've missed out on pretty much every new RPG game this year so the preferred ones are between 2006-07
P.S. Here are some popular ones i'm expecting that i've already played
Final Fantasy VII-X, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Kingdom Hearts I-II |

Final Fantasy X (touching love story and heartbreaking ending), X-2 (if you really wish to see Tidus reunited with Yuna) and XII (not much on love stories here, but the gameplay and world map just owns).
Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. Great character designs (although some guys look like girls and some girls look more like porn stars), beautiful environments and music score, and a great story to boot. The battle system however, is the total opposite.
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana. I love this game, funny and touching at times. Simple battle system, plenty of subquests, the music just owns (the music Horned Enigma is one of the best boss battle themes I've heard so far), and also a great storyline.
Dragonquest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. If you are an avid RPG player, you MUST play this game. One of the best RPG games on the PS2. It boasts the largest and most detailed world map I've ever seen. Jennifer is enough for eye candy. You have to try this out.
Dark Cloud 2. Another RPG that I've played on the PS2 and loved. Taking pictures of numerous stuffs to make weapons, building structures and for quests is really unique. The storyline and soundtrack are great too. |
