Can anyone help me find a tactical approach that will help Torres score? In return I'll give them help with a tactic that has Torres blast chance after chance to his best friend in row Z. I seem to have perfected it.

torres main problem is his poor stats in composure.. but thats on my game, it could be something else on yours, to high creative freedom, long shots to high, attacking to high... good luck.

just pick a completely different starting 11 except for gerra and carra like rafa does

He's on little CF, no LS and intensive Shooting training. His composure has improved 1 point to 12. I think I'll buy him a banjo and take him to cow field for some practice.

Now Kuyt has developed a habit of passing the ball to the oppo GK, even if the GK is on the other side of the goal. Ho hum...

On FM07 I use a very direct attacking tactic with Torres and Aguero (I know you're on '08) and both of them say they "Enjoy the teams style of play"
His stats are the same on '08 are they not? So maybe try that, as he banged them in for me...
Direct Passing, Fast Tempo, High D-Line.
I'm sure it'll translate onto '08.

you need an out and out goal scorer beside him not kuyt, i got rid of him and got pandev, got 74 between them in the 1st season and pandev didnt play in europe, that in mind i do play quite an attacking formation so maybe if you try this, 3-2-2-1-2 formation, use riise hyypia carragher back 3, 2 holding midfielders alonso and mascherano( change their player tactics to no forward runs or run with ball), two wings with farrow, babel and another( i bought VDV so play those 2), gerrard AMC and your 2 strikers, then change tactics to half way towards all out attack, make gerrard playmeker, put back line very deep, play with width and short passes,and marking on man marking. you're basically guarenteed goals, beware this really doesnt work if you don't get it all right, and even then you end up conceding about 2/3 to the better teams so change it for big matches.

Torres is very hit and miss for me. I've played him up on his own for 3 seasons and he seems to be improving every year:

Most of the goals come in spurts though. He's not scoring one every match, he's missing loads of chances a few matches in a row, then bagging hattricks in the next couple - I guess his consistency stat isn't the best. He's awesome in big games though.
