Default How do i load a game from a newly created database?

I've read thru the other threads and i can't see any that explain simply how i get the game to load from a newly created database.

Sorry if it has already been posted but i can't see it... if anyone can explain how in simple terms i'd be grateful.

I've managed to do it on the other versions but i cant't find the option on 2008.

Thanks.

as far as I know, you can´t load a game with a new database, the game you just already started manages his own database, so I guess you can´t.

i mean i now want to create a new game from the database....

the game isnt letting me load the new database, it just keeps loading the original one.

i remember vaguely that when i first played 2008 it gave an option of what database to load when starting a new game, this is no longer coming up....

When you saved the database, did you save it as a new name, or save it over the default database?

If you saved it over the default database (not reccomended) then load up the default database and your changes will be apparent.

yep - ditto. I'm having the same problem.

The first game I created, the "select database" menu popped-up. But now ... nothing.

If anyone has found a solution to this - or if it is a confirmed bug - could they please report it?

There is a thread on the bugs forum about this which suggests the workaround of removing your preferences folder. This worked for me on Mac.

See the thread here

i had the same problem the other week.

i'm not quite sure why but if you go onto the preferences screen there is a tick box option regarding temporary files.

when that was checked you have the option to choose the database.

i hope that helps?

This seems much more simple than the advice in the above thread. So will test it and see. Thanks.
