FMM 2.2... (read)

So, I've downloaded it
and I open it and a box comes up saying
'File access denied'
and I click OK and another box comes up
'Access violation at address 004B8FF5 in module 'FNN2.2.exe'. Write of address 00000040'
I then click OK again and it opens, but most of it isn't there.
and when I click load another box comes up saying
the same thing.

I've downloaded a few different ones (from different mirrors) and it's all the same.

Has anyone got any idea?

No you don't. You need to extract the downloaded file and then install the program.

I also ran as administrator.
Think that had anything to do with it?

Windows Vista?

Run as administrator from the original program files/FMM folder... this thing happened to me when i tried to run from a shortcut...
