It seems a waste of time, and it seems rather suspect as South American clubs always win.

Liverpool were robbed in this two years ago.

Waitakere United was formed as a special franchise club in 2004 to play in the NZFC, New Zealand's top domestic football competition. The team represents 12 member clubs from Mt Albert to the Kaipara.

In the inaugural season (2004/2005) of the NZFC, Waitakere United finished runners-up to champions Auckland City FC but they followed up with a very disappointing 6th place in the next season. Commins Menapi scored a crucial away goal that proved the difference as the tie finished 2-2 in aggregate.
They have three English players, two from Solomons Islands (including the immortal Commins Menapi :cool: ), two Welsh, one from Fiji, and the rest are New Zealanders.

Champions go through to play the winners of the Empire v Rebel Alliance tie tbp an the Death Star 8pm (Stardate 567.26q) 23rd December (Live on Setanta Sports or Vadervision depending on which part of the cosmos you're in).
