Managing a team in the Blue Square South league is not LLM? how?

Because the hereby used term of LLM does not equal "just playing with a team in the lowest playable league".

Let me explain what I have done and then if you still think it is not LLM, then I will leave it.

Choose All English leagues and Large Database.
Added an unemployed manager until 18th June 2008. Retired that player and then added myself.

Then judged on reputation, I decided to take over the Non League team that had been promoted to either North or South Blue Square league with the lowest reputation.

This was Tiverton, I am using scouts and job centre stuff like I should do.

Is this not LLM?

Fair enough.

Still not entirely sure why it's not LLM, it's only like starting a game with one of the 6 promoted teams into the Conference North/South this season.
But I'm making it harder because a newer team for season 2008/9 will not have a full squad.

2011-2012

Consolidation time for St. Albans. After last year's survival, it was time to re-negotiate my contract. Got a double salary 2 year deal with the aim of surviving in League 2 by the end of the two-year plan.

The slowest pre-season in this save meant only a few players were signed/sold, while most of my youth dead wood were shown the door. That meant that for the first time we didn't have an early season slump. We started decently and finished decently, cruising in mid-table almost throughout the season.

In the end, we finished 11th in a very satisfying if unspectacular season. Satisfying because we started consistently playing the kind of football i want, for the first time in FM08. Now, if i can get some better players, it's gonna be swell.

CCL2: 11th with 65 points
Cups: Meh
8 players signed (5 youths from various home nations, not for the first team, total cost 200k), 17 players sold/released, total revenue 135k)

No, it isn't. The problem with the Dafuge challenge (or any other "challenge") is that it flies in the face of the basic premise of what LLM tries to achieve: realism. We don't try to hamstring ourselves by trying to achieve specific goals. I recall even Dafuge coming in once and saying that the purpose of the challenge and what LLM is are two entirely different beasts ... apart from the starting point of a team in the lower league.

Anyway, any team played in the true spirit of LLM is a challenge. You take a job on, you may succeed, you'll more than likely fail, lose your job, hunt around for get another, try again...

Off-topic:

To me, it's plain and (kind of) simple: LLM is Lower League Management (it's almost a way of life)

Dafuge's Challenge is a Challenge where you start with a team from a lower league.

To qualify my earlier statement; some people may be playing said challenge in a true LLM fashion, but the challenge itself is not LLM.
