The problem is not with Image Ready, the animations runs fine, It's when I try to view GIF animations on the net (ie. this forum) It doesn't work at all! I've tried turning off my pop-up blocker and still no help |
Can anyone help?

What browser are you using? Try FireFox. If you are using Internet Explorer look in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and make sure "Play animations in web pages" is checked. It is a option about 3/5s of the way down the list.

Are you sure that you uploaded the right Gif Nitro and have you viewed this Gif in something else than Imageready like for example ACDsee or Irfanview?

Another thing you should: upload it to this board so that I can have a look at it myself in IE or other programs.

Hey JoeD, here's a example of my problem, I've uploaded a GIF, it plays well within IR, but as I try to view it here (PSG) there's no animation.

The GIF plays on both my Mac and PC,nitrobutler. Nice little GIF, by the way. I can't really help diagnose a PC system problem but you could d/l FireFox and see if the problem persists. Then you would know the issue is with something in the system (firewall, AdWare, SpyWare sofware, system setting?) or you would know it was IE if FireFox ran the animations.

For a second there I wondered if there was a setting in the PSG forum which might disable animations but I don't think there is.

As another little test, does this gif play? (there is a longish delay between rotations)

Welles: I just installed Firefox and alas still no animation, Thanks for the heads up with the new browser, I think I'll keep it. [righton]

Joy: The Problem is that, I don't know when it stopped working :{
It was only after I seen princess Zolo stomp Jim on my jobs puter, that I realized it wasn't working at home

I guess I'll go on without, no biggie, Thanks to all for trying [righton]

The only thing I can think of is that an animated gif is a series of images. So somehow there must be a setting that does not allow download of more than one image. It has to do with the Internet -they do play in your operating system- but not with the browser. So my guess is either a virus killer or a firewall setting. This may also be at your provider's level. More and more providers add free virus and firewall settings. But it may also be at the level of your Windows firewall. Even if you don't use that one.

You run XPsp2?
