Inconsistency and yellow card!?

Hi,

I'm not exactly new to this (been playing since 03) but there are some issues that still bug/frustrate me.

Just when I thought I had the answer to inconsistency in FM '07, my bugbear has returned. The last five games --> 0-6, 6-1, 0-3, 4-1, 0-3.

Just SO frustrating! Anyway my post is really about the amount of yellows I receive in a game and how to deal with them.

They seem to crop up (obviously) in the games where I get thrashed, but there is nothing I can do about it. I've had 4 of my main players suspended and average 5 players a game yellowed.
The old game allowed you to 'warn/discipline' at anytime for last game offences, and it seemed to stop - but I can't in FM '08. And now my captain 'is worried about lack of discipline'. I get angry at the main offenders but it does nothing.
I've played around low CD and light tackles to discourage fouls but they get caught for ludicrous things...

How can I curb this?

Please don't say - 'win more often...'

I can only answer from my game, and i tend to get two few yellow cards really.
In five season i only have had Fabregas/Senderos suspended due to yellows(leauge). And in five seasons in leauge have only gotten two red cards...both Bendtner.

I have quite the opposite problem if you can call it that

What team are you managing?, how is the aggr on your players?

I always manage LL. Hampton and Richmond ATM.

Fairly high Agdr ratings...

I just played a game a second ago...

Unbelievable!! One player (Aggr 10) sent off after 4 mins for elbowing in the face. Then a further 4 yellows in 1st half alone. Finished game with 6 players yellow carded - I held out to a 0-0 draw too.
Fined violent player 2 weeks - he accepted - but I can't penalize other players! I have 2 more suspensions looming!! Nothing I can do....

Same here, I actually get ridiculously few cards of either colour. I'm always around the bottom of the card tables, was like that in 07 as well...

Not that I'm complaining

Oh, and so far I've had no bans for accumulated cards, playing something close to 8 seasons.

I know what you mean - I never used to pick up cards in '06 & '07. My record was virtually immaculate. Whether it's the inconsistency I mentioned earlier, losing heavily or a new engine...

Some of the new engine's features reflect LL teams a lot better - the dreadful passing, the slow players, the bad decision making etc... maybe the 'Sunday League' ethic has been modeled too now.
But nevertheless - it is frustrating that you can't simply come down hard on a player out of match time. Some of them are performing SO badly - I need to scream at them out of the dressing room too!

Agree about the inconsistency, thats got me down as well.

As for copious amounts of yellows. Download the patch when it comes out (maybe tomorrow night) and see if that helps you. Personally I've seen less cards in 08 than I did in 07 (at least pre patch 07).
