It would be a great start if parents actually realised that games rated 18 aren't suitable for their children.

yeah, but that would imply that parents were actually in control of their children.

Good point. We'll just blame videogames then.

Manhunt 2 is no loss, but it's beyond my comprehension why parents would allow their kids to own games like that

How will the BBFC get around Rockstar showing some of the films they let out on an 18 release in a potential court case?

I don't care about this game and frankly think it is an unoriginal and poor game that is selling on the shock factor instead of the actual quality of the game itself (as with the first Manhunt). I do however dislike the hypocrisy of the BBFC.

May not be exactly the correct place to ask but how come books don't have a rating system?

Obviously games and movies do, and in music you get the warnings if they contain bad language, yet there's nothing stopping a 10 year old buying a novel of complete filth, filled with bad language and violence. Doesn't seem quite right to me.

Things like this will continue to happen until people realise that the medium is no different to cinema / TV etc and shouldn’t be automatically associated with children in the way that currently happens.

Well... it was always argued that games and movies SHOW you the violence.

The music is traditionally a very useful tool for brainwashing and books... well they just don't care because kids don't read them.

Oh and books do not show you anything, it's just some words on a blank piece of paper and you need to have imagination to see anything.

P.S. That's the general idea i guess. I am against it.

I just don't see how this game can't get rated yet a film like saw which has far more realistic explicit graphical gore and violence does?
