Rep Power: 10 Supporting: Chelsea Footballers: Gianfranco Zola, John Terry | So what happens with Alves now? He's made it crystal clear that he wants to leave and if Chelsea aren't going to buy him that would just mean Real Madrid will most probably get him.
But is there any chance (and don't slate me for this) that the Robben deal might have included that Madrid would have to lay off Alves?
If so, then Sevilla know that we have now bought Juliano Belletti and in their eyes we will not be as desperate to sign Alves as before. And considering he is still desperate for a move, wouldn't that mean Sevilla having to lower their price of him as I doubt they want to have a wantaway player who is publicly stating his desire to leave and might even cause a rift with the club.
Afterall, there is very little doubt that he will not be signing a new contract with Sevilla as he will want to leave for a bigger club when his contract expires. Surely Sevilla would then want to cash in on him now before he has the chance to leave them for free.
If this is the case, then there is still chance of Chelsea signing him for a much lower price. Afterall, we made all that money from Robben and were not the type of club that actually needs to make a profit on transfers each year.
If Chelsea have at all organised there business like this, it is most certainly clever thinking. However if not, I doubt Madrid will take much hesitation in snapping up Alves despite all their other buys. |
