My mate playing FM a few years ago. He put his best 11 player in their best positions on the pitch. This meant putting them whereever on the pitch regardless of standard formation. Looked ugly. I called it the Picasso formation.

fwiw it never worked.

Which manager had all the spare balls collected up so that they only used one ball and thus ran the clock down whenever it went into touch?

haha what about the other season when man city really needed to score in the last few minutes of the game. They're got Jon Macken on the bench but proceed to bring David James on and stick him up front That was pure comedy

Which Premiership team was the first to start mucking about with the new offside rule at free kicks? Would deliberately stick a couple of players miles offside to distract the defenders.

a million and one small things to **** the opposition, from having the grass left long in the corners of the pitch so his team's long balls wouldn't go out, to over-sugaring the opposition's tea urn

was succesful at cambridge with a horrific form of long ball football, right up until the moment all the other teams in the league worked out how simplistic it was to beat it, leading to them getting beaten every week, thus providing the inspiration for si coders as regards how the ai deals with tactics
