Default Very unhappy star player affects the whole team?

I have a very unhappy star player who demands a transfer every few weeks, which I reject. It has not gotten to the point that other players are commenting about it saying they are upset that the situation has gotten t this point (or something along those lines)

What will happen if I continue to refuse a transfer for this player? Will other players dislike me or request a move themselves?

And what will happen to the star player who wants a transfer? He has 3 years left so I could hang on to him, does he just continue to whine and play with low morale?

Set his valuation to something outlandish, way above what he's worth.

Then, when the next enquiry comes in, say you'll only sell him for the right price.

Sit back and wait... Eventually a bid will come in at the valuation you've set, which the board thinks is too good to refuse.

In my current game, I recently sold Romeo Castelen (worth 7 mill) to Aston Villa for 15 million euro. Suckas! He's not even my star player.

I know how to sell him, but I am wondering will happen to the squad if I don't sell him.

The is Van der Vaart I am talking about. He is insanely temperamental and everytime sometime offers for him he goes nuts when I refuse.

Don't reject. Just stick the value you ask for to a stupid amount, then the club will pull out of the deal when you continue.

That is what I have been doing as I have read that here before.

I am in March, and the issue starting arising as out of nowhere he started demanding a transfer. I have been denying his request to be transfer listed (sorry but I am not putting the reigning Footballer of the Year in my game on the Transfer List LOL) and he is of course very angry.

The problem is I now 3 other players who are becoming unsettled because of him. All 3 have the PR thingy beside them that says They are unhappy with me that the situation with Van der Vaart has come to the point that he needs to request a transfer.

Just wondering should I ditch him? Or can I keep him and just deal with the problems? Will it affect my team on the field?

You've got the PRs. It already is effecting them on the field to some degree.

It doesn't matter who the player is. People become too atched to their players. If someone wants away, let them go. Get the best price you can, and be gone with them. Buy someone who will fit your squad better, both on the field and off, with the proceeds.

Personalities are a key aspect of this game, and one of the most overlooked. They permeate every level, from on-pitch morale and willingness to involve others (don't think Determination, Teamwork, Work Rate, and others aren't part of a player's personality? You're wrong...), to reactions to team talks and media, to loyalty and chemistry, personalities run the rule over roost.

A tempermental b@stard like Van der Vaart would be the first player I'd transfer away...

Thanks for the advice.

I hear what you are saying and I normally try to keep a mindset that no one player is bigger than the team, but this is a close as it gets. I am absolutely destroying everyone in the league and in ECC and Van der Vaart is leading the charge. He just won World Footballer of the Year and has an average rating of 7.95. Tough to let him go....but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

Now another question, do I sell him now (in March) or do i wait until the season ends. Both for value and for the team performing well down the stretch. I am in CL semis right away.

There are better, less whiney, VDVs in the world.

Just sell him and get someone better.

One player does'nt make a team. One principal I've always adhered to, regardless of how good a player is. If they want to leave and create problems, get the best price you can and move on.
