Default FM08 ~ FM Live *Anyone mildly worried?*

I know FM Live is still in testing and such, but although I was originally really excited about it, to be honest I'm no longer.

I don't know how much relation there is in the game between FM07 and/or FM08, but I won't be rushing to sign up for it because I'm not happy with FM08 thus far.

Part of me is worried I'll be paying £10 a month for a buggy game with flaws that other people will exploit and I'll have paid £40 and played little of the game through frustration until it's fixed. Of course I'm also considering sitting tight for a couple of months and seeing how it goes.

This thread isn't aiming to create another boo boy vs fan boy situation, I'm hoping that FML beta testers or SI can sum up what they've thought of it (I can only get so much from reading the forum for the game) without giving away anything they're not supossed to or going into explicit details. I was also hoping to see what other forum users were thinking and feeling about FML since FM08 has settled in.

Any thoughts? Sans bickering if possible.

I've been really enjoying FM Live to be honest. I have even gone as far as getting my star player's club shirt with his name on the back of it to wear around the office and wind up my opponents.

The "FM" and "FM Live" teams are different and the only real crossover is with the match engine. I'm sure you'll be able to try it out before deciding whether you want to "buy" or however we're going to deal with that side of things.

Yes well we were allowed to try FM08 but many of the more irritating problems did not show their ugly faces until after a whole season or longer, hence we were unable to notice such wonders until we'd bought the game.....

I wish I hadn't broken my own rule of not buying a CM/FM game til Xmas when it's been patched properly as the number of issues that majorly impact on the game is ridiculous (that and it's £20 in GAME at the moment). Based on my experience with FM 08 I certainly shan't be buying FM live as I'd be very surprised if they got it to run smoothly given that they couldn't manage to get FM 08 to a reasonable standard on release and subsequently.

I don't even play FM now (for the first time in 13 years), so forking out £60-100 per year on FML would be pushing it a bit.

FML is a hell of a lot easier to patch than FM is.

Theoretically you could have several patches a day if major issues were found - server-side issues can be fixed without anyone even needing to download a patch (plus FML currently patches itself whenever you run it and a new patch is available).

I honestly doubt it will ever need that many however.

For some reason I really hope it's not a regen or made-up player. That would be a little bizzare.
