i cant understand why they released this game it is so **** its unreal forget about the they had 50 chances and the match engine ******** what about the real problems like no players playing for germany but they are still good and the spanish league you rigister players in the b and c teams and they are not registered for the main team and you get new contract offers from the board every year and their plans are always the same even thou you win everthing every season its just amauter stuff iv downloaded the beta patch and it does nothing utter bullshit

Good for you Heath. Good for you. It isnt near as fun as cleverly devising YOUR OWN tactic that suits your team and brings you sucess. However in FM 08, that is impossible. Btw danimal your heading has just summed up my feeling towards fm at the moment

Reading this with interest. I have just bought FM08 last week and every time I play it's a downer to my mood. Meanwhile I have figured some tactics with which I don't get spanked that badly every time, but I came on here right now to see if I can find anything to help me tune my tactics further as apparently any past experience is worth nothing.

From what I learned so far, finishing 20 at least means you score every 20th one-on-one (oh how often I wanted to kill Owen...)

I have never said Fm 08 was perfect, no game where a striker can score 54 goals in 47 games can ever be described as perfect.

What i do object to though is people judging what others can do. Impossible would mean no one can device their own tactic for their own players. Well in the 10 years or so I have played this series of games I have never downloaded a tactic or looked a good player guide or used any outside software to ensure succes and guess what, so far it works.

As far as tactics go it's a shame you have to resort to building or borrowing a killer tactic.

You may have noticed from the way you're often skinned by the computer that there are two keys to a Rambo tactic at the moment:

Defensive midfielders and players playing forward to the byline.

If you play with a flat back three and one very good DM who slots back into defence as well, or two DM's who don't you're halfway there.

By having pacey wingers defeating the defence (for some reason there's a bias towards the left doing better BTW), making sure passes go down both flanks, that they cross from the byline and cross to head you defeat the long shots/can't aim to save his mother's life bug.

I've also found that if you keep passing set to short you'll also defeat the teeth grinding that comes with your players kicking the ball into oposition midfielders who then sprint 60 yards and score.
