That seems totally counter productive though you want to buy a player and to succeed you have to make an offer then take him off your shortlist?

just to counter the OP I've had no game stopping problems.

As a LLM player I started in Serie C2, gained back to back promotions to Serie B & I'm sitting 8th midway through my 3rd season in Sere B.

If the game is so flawed & unplayable how have I managed to rise through the leagues & stay in such a lofty (in comparision to the clubs standing)? Hard work, lots of tinkering, investing some serious time & consideration that's how.

Other people have mention having success in their games, some have suffered failure. That's just football, deal with it, try another club a different league/country. Maybe as a new unknown manager you're just not ready for the Liverpool job, your tactics despite declaring you've tried everything might not suit your squad or you could just be unlucky.

I have to agree with you here, as Coventry in the premiership with a squad more suited to the championship than the premiership I am managing to stay around midtable and have been able to beat the likes of Tottenham and Everton 3-0. While my best result against a top four team may be a 1-1 draw at home against liverpool I really don't see how you can seem to have so little success with a club of Liverpools stature.

I really dont think that it is impossible to have success in FM08 and if you put a lot of time and effort into devoloping a strong and effective squad you should have at least moderate success. It may just be that some peoples tactics just don't suit the team they are managing and if you are playing liverpool in ther wrong way they will struggle.

I mean if you do go deep and defensive you will be hit by the other team, just look at what happened to England after they equalised against croatia. This game is far from impossible.
