One of the little things that I do in my game is that I give nick-names to players and staff.

The names given to my staff are relevant to their ratings in areas that I consider key in their role.

eg Alan Neill, (scout), has been renamed JPA 9 JPP 9, in accordance with his judging player ability and judging player potential stats when I first signed him. Now his contract is up for renewal and I find that his judging player potential has dropped to 8. Now he's only 37 years old so it's not as if he's going old and senile, so it doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Similarly, the JPP of my 33 year old Ass Man has dropped from 14 to 13.

The JPP of my 33 year old 1st team Coach has dropped from 13 to 12.

The JPP of my 34 year old coach has dropped from 8 to 6.

The JPP of my 32 year old youth coach has dropped from 5 to 4.

We are still in the season so it's not as if they are out of practice, and I have a squad full of young players.

Can anyone shed some light in this please.

Maybe you need to find staff to train your staff.

I don't know good point, maybe you are under utilising them.

I brought up this exact same issue on here when playing FM07. I'd been noticing for a while that the attributes of my staff never increased, but often went down.

Firstly I thought it was down to their determination or adaptability but found that these weren't a problem for the staff I was looking at.

In the end I never got a satisfactory answer, and still get annoyed that young staff at AI clubs seem to improve whereas staff at my club only ever go the other way.

In my current game i'm managing in Singapore and both my scouts have improved both JPA and JPP by 1 point in less than a year. I'm not sure about my coaches though.

One thing i'll point out though is I always try and hire scouts with high determination, they always seem to improve at least a little if they have good determination.

Do you use your scouts constantly? As soon as mine are finished scouting I send them right back out. No mean feat in Singapore as they tend to finish an assignment in around a week.

It's particularly troubling that Jimbo's staff are in their 30s.

Staff, like players degenerate after a certain age - in their case seemingly about age 50.

They should certainly be progressing in their 30s.

Don't you think this is a little odd? Abilities such as judging player potential are based on experience and knowledge, surely these should only increase as someone gets older, and not decline like physical attributes?

46KM? I'm suprised it even takes them a week then.

I'm merely guessing, but I'm suggesting that because they are unproven or local, they have a learning curve to follow too. Maybe, when who they recommended as a "sign at all costs" is only a fringe player or a dud, their mental attributes decrease, especially if their determination and discipline are lower.

I wonder if scouts/coaches with national and continental reputations also decrease to the same degree that the local, obscures, and unprovens?
