Take my advice, Liverpool don't want him in 08, pick him up cheap, play him as backup or rotation whatever you decide, bring him on as a sub for first few games, play him only on the left keep his training regieme easy and watch him play well week in week out, at least he has been for me (managing arsenal).
To my surprise he was even getting picked in the 1st 11 by my assistant manager week in week out, anyways all the bad run IRL he shines in 08, check him out.
