 Is £200,00.00 a week obscene?
It is a fact that within 3 to 4 years top footballers will be on approx. £200,000.00 a week.This is due to ever increasing revenue in broadcasting premiership matches on a world wide scale. Everybody is a winner, the FA, the Premier Clubs, the Footballers and the Television stations, with the exeption of the Football Fans who will then pay for a cup of coffee £5.00 and for a Meat Pie £7.00. Season tickets will vary from between £1,000 and £3,000. Families will be financially frozen out, whilst Corporate entertainment will ascend to even more vulgar heights.
Nothing will stop this greedy bandwagon, which will feed the Footballers with wages up to £10Mill p/a. Footballers from all over the world would invade the UK, in order to get a slice of the fat cake, annually on offer. It would squeeze out any potential young footballer in the UK, as Clubs, in order to survive, will be chasing the big jackpot, and the time it would take to convert the potential young player into Premiership players, would most certainly be prohibitive. The England team will be even more weakened by having to play players who probably play their Saturday matches in the reserve team, as their first team is loaded will big name and Internationals from all over the world.
