| Having played the game for a while fully patched (I got it for x-mas) it seems more than playable to me. However, and sadly, I have to agree with all the points you've raised
The match engine in particular needs some work and although it's clearly flawed I'm sure many will dispute it.

| I can only assume that it's because of the high standards that SI have set with previous incarnations of FM and the fact that CM has been so bad previously. CM is still a pretty poor game, but it has clearly improved, whilst FM does feel that it has only moved forward a litte, especially when compared to previous versions.

Also CM seems to have some fresh ideas, esspecially in one area where FM needs improving- Tactics.

| Very true, although I'm very dissapointed with ProZone. It's a good idea, it just seems pretty pointless at the moment.
My hope is that SI are working on a much more advanced system then this, one with good feedback from the assistant (as thats much more important then just watching highlights again and again), and are trying to make a system that works well. The feedback from the forum gives me the impression that this is one of the features that people would most like to see so I really hope this is being worked on.

Does the Pro-Zone not work well? I was half tempted to get a copy, as some reviews even say the tactical side is the best part of CM.
Although others dont.

| Personally, I think it's poor at present. Some of the comments are poor such as being told your defender played the ball out of defence when all he did was pass it to the player next to him. Also, you get no suggestions on how to prevent things, which in my opinion, makes it little better then the match report in FM.
It does, however, have great potential, and with a bit more attention, this could really give the tactics side of the game a big advantage over FM.

the reviews i've read about CM is that cm can't make up its mind as to what it is. it has something like pro zone which gives you indepth info about all the stats.
and then don't do anything about the tactics meaning you can pay absolutley no attention to the tactics and still win everything.
making the pro zone pointless.
personally i want the tactics side of the game.

I agree with most.
the game isn't unplayable but there are a few problemms which have been mentioned here which i too have noticed.
Personally, I find it difficult to enjoy the game this time around. hopefully the patch will improve things. I dont expect to win 5-0 every week, but it'd be nice to see a striker score a goal or at least not have the opposition keeper save three or four rebounds in a row.

Pro-Zone is an excellent idea, but no it doesn't work very well at present.
For example it highlights a tackle as being important, but the description of the tackle and why it thinks its important has no relation to what the match engine is showing.
And while I agree that CM is really improving, the match engine is incredibly superficial and doesn't come close to SI's attempts, even with all the problems.
