I searched on this and didn't find an answer. Am I just blind, as I have looked through everything in the preferences when starting a game to disable attribute masking and see it nowhere. I've always found it easily with prior versions. Where the heck is it?

Right at the bottom of the New Game screen. There are 3 check boxes: Attribute Masking, Use Real Players and something else.
