Default League 2 team expected to beat Prem team???

Don't get me wrong about this post, I do enjoy FM08 but sometimes it's just amazing how ludicrous some of the features can be. For some reason my half depleted MK Dons side was expected to beat Sunderland, expected to beat Falkirk and probably rightly beat York (2 red cards for me in that one ).

The Confidence Engine is at present a half baked project not quite up to SI's normal high standards. Perhaps with the 8.0.2 patch we can disable it, at least until it's been fixed to properly reflect the realism they aim for.

Good thing is though that i'm so far 7 games unbeaten with the same team in the league (5 wins, 2 draws) using my old FM06 & FM07 tactics, guess the game still hasn't cracked it.

When you say 'expected to beat' do you mean you were favourites, or your fans wanted you to win?

I find the fans and board are always disappointed if I get beaten in the cup by a Premier League team. I'm Chester, and have played Newcastle (lost 2-0) and Man City (lost 4-2). I thought we played well as we've only finished 13th first season and half way through the second season are 7th but the board and the fans said they were dissappointed with our cup run. I don't think that's a fair reflection of what happened.

But the game against Sunderland it says the fans were unhappy about the ability to convert chances. It had nothing to do with you losing. They didn't like the fact you weren't able to score goals.

I totally agree the confidence feature is broke, but your example doesn't show this. The fans were unhappy at not being able to convert chances even though the team made them. Everyone is going to be dissapointed at losing, even if they expect it.

I don't know why the fans were even expecting you to play falkirk, let alone beat them...
