Just looked through my whole Arsenal sqaud and players either have a 1 or 2 for goalkeeper rating, same for goalkeepers with outfield rating!

don't know but i'm sure the rating system is 1-5

i suppose u cud train a rubbish defender in the goalkeeping lot and see what happens, but 1-5 is the rating system i believe

I was wondering that too (a while back), so I looked up Phil Jagielka in the game, Phil is a damn fine keeper IRL but in the game he had (has? - I play FM07 still) a keeper rating of 1... or 2.

Is this an area SI simply overlook?
Don't they try to find out which players play well in nets as well as outfield?

Back in FM07, i used to get a lot of regens with ratings between 7 and 15. Lets see if it happens this year.!
