3lions houston is infamous around these parts
Default WSM 2008

i posted a couple of days ago, and have not received any responses.

i also tried to contact SI but my e mail gets returned.

i can't find it anywhere in the search engine either.

is it an anomoly in the game, having played CM for years and moved on to FM, that at years end, with WSM you cannot sign any bosmans until ONE MONTH before their contracts expire.

no point in having you up your players salaries in december due to losing them, as no one else seems to be able to do it either.

i under that it balances out, BUT takes away from the reality of the game.

players are still bought and sold up and until 2 weeks prior to their contract expiring.

thanks for any input.

i bought this online digitally and everything else seems the same as the last FM 07 which i played but which was bought from the u.k.

at 29.00 dlrs. as opposed to the exchange rate, it seemed a better deal.

that is my only complaint (other than the normal picky ones which everyone else seems to address).

cheers

If the player you are trying to sign plays for a club in the same country you are amanging in then the rule is correct - you can only approach them a month (6 weeks) before their contract ends.

If they are outside your country then you can still approach them six months before the end of the contract and sign them.

It was the same on FM 2007 as it was the first version that included this rule. On previous versions to FM 2007 you could still sign players from one English club to another six months in advance.

The real rule rule is England clubs cannot sign players from another English club until 1 month before their contract expires. You can get players from other countries in January still though.

The real-life rules change, and the rules in FM follow suit.

Sometimes, the real-life rules are incorrectly or improperly represented in FM; often, a later version corrects that.

Its no different for American sports, with changes made to our Collective Bargaining Agreements fairly regularly; just compare football of 2007 (free agency, salary cap, 7-round draft) to football of 1987 (free agency, 12-round draft) to football of 1957 (reserve clause, draft-until-all-teams-pass-in-succession) and you can see our sports law changing as well.
