i managed to finish second first season and won the league second season using a 442 attacking diamond (the one in default tactics)

i played beattie and johnson up front (beattie target man)

arteta left mid and he got loads of assists

Yobo and Lescott are SOLID!

also i played with a split mentality i.e. back four and the DM all on first notch of defensive and the everyone else on the first notch of attacking

slow tempo short passing (whole team on same passing setting)

hope that helps! i reckon the key to success with everton is utilising arteta cahill and johnson - 4411 may also suit them

Have played an Everton game and came 2nd in first season. James Beattie was top scorer and an excellent target man. I would recommend using Minimal Fuss v4 tactic, as I came 2nd with that tactic in the first season and a 4-4-2 would fit Everton nicely.

any of the fuss tactics can be used to good effect with everton but they dont really get the best of of tim cahill (hero)

Well that's a decent point. Of course there's the possiblity of making Cahill a playmaker so that play goes through him, but Beattie as a TM really works excellent.

yeah beattie plays very well in that role - some fella (called wings or something like that) made a tactic with tim cahill set as target man playin as AM - he reckoned it worked very well cos TC has the trademark attributes of a target man - might be worth tryin this with TC behind AJ
