player called up to under canada u23 squad, but he's 32

In the year 2016, and Iain Hume has jus been called up to the Canada under 23 squad, how is this possible. is it a bug, or are players over 23 actually allowed to play?

A certain amount over over 23s are allowed.

Well like a said, "a certain amount". I'm not sure of the rules. Perhaps three players over 23 are allowed.

Like SWaRFeGA said, at the Olympics a predominantly U23 squad is named, but a certain amount of overage players are allowed, so it's not an issue.

Wikipedia has: Currently, the Olympic men's tournament is played at Under-23 level. In the past the Olympics have allowed a restricted number of over-age players per team;[39] but that practice will cease in the 2008 Olympics.
So by 2016 it probably shouldn't happen, unless the tournament you refer to wasn't the Olympics.

it's qualifying for the olympics. there are 5 over 23's in total with 2 even older than mine. one is 37! so, it really shouldnt be happenin
