NeilUK is on a distinguished road
Default Something that if not a bug in this version should be introduced next time

Hi All

I think most players will agree with me that the whole expectations/confidence needs more work but having said that is an improvement on before. I like the long term goals rather than just one season ones.

However something that I think is missing is the whole lift a club gets in real life when a new manager takes over (especially a manager with a high reputation). It simply doesn't happen in FM2008 and it never has really. I took over Blackburn after their relegation to The Championship after doing well with Leeds. My rep was high within the game, with comments in the media saying this like "emminent" and "highly respected".

Players that were unhappy at the time I took over at being out of the team immediately started asking for a transfer and moaning to the press. In the real world a player out of the team would see a new manager as his chance, for a few weeks at least he would knuckle down and be happy at his new opportunity and see if he got picked.

If this can't be applied to a new patch for this version it would be great if it could be included in the next version as I think it would improve the game no end.

Neil

I think there is an attempt to cover this with the player saying they are "eager to impress his new manager". Dunno if it makes a difference though.

How could you tell if they have had a lift or not?

there's not always a lift anyway
e.g. sam allardyce at newcastle. the players are hardly putting in uplifting performances.

personally i feel i do get some sort of a honeymoon period so long as i manage well, but maybe it's not in the game and I'm making it up.
