Default Out of Interest....

One of the most popular LL challenges appears to be East Stirlingshire and I'm intending to have my first bash post patch/update.

Without looking for bragging or tipping or anything I have a simple question -

Has anyone ever been sacked by the club? It seems with their historical record and low expectations you'd have to be uniquely awful to have that honour.

Could I go 10 seasons consistently finishing bottom and still be in a job?

Anyone?

Are there no relegations from the Scottish 3rd? Or does Scottish football stop there?!

I haven't taken the challenge myself but i rarely see that job even being insecure. It would appear to be very hard to get sacked from there..... though i am sure that Pete or Ian has managed it at some point

Been a while since I was home, but I think clubs are invited to join the Scottish 3rd Division, and that happens rarely. Maybe twice in my life.
That means nowhere to sink to, but doesnt grant job security.

Clubs are invited to apply and the Beaks decide on who gets in based on Attendances and Finances and the potential for Club expansion.

Last Clubs in were Ross County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Peterhead, Elgin City (see a pattern there?) and Gretna (damn...pattern broke )

Last one was a bit of a scandal. Airdrieonians went bust and were kicked out the League, Gretna were the successful applicants, and Clydebank were bought by Airdrie investors, renamed Airdrie United and moved to Airdrieonians' old ground.

Bankies supporters were understandably well ****ed.

Ok if you are this I think is the reason.

It started when all the Highland League teams who were constantly hammering 3rd, 2nd, and even some 1st division clubs in the cups< ( that was my semi colon) and getting bigger crouds, better finance and generally left out of the SFA professional scene.

So when the SFA decided to enlarge the league they looked for new clubs to fill the spaces.

There is a similiar situation in central Scotland, where Junior teams often beat League teams in the Cup. Gala Fairydean being one that springs to mind. In the end they chose the Highland teams for the reasons Mentioned above.

I hope that clears a few things or else I got a sore wrist for no personal pleasure

p.s. There is no promotion or relegation from Div 3, like the Conference.

Unless I am so out of reality.

Not much Scottish football in Finland
