The path of Righteousness is surrouned by temptation. Many see the draw of online gaming too much of a temptation, playing with big sides too good a chance to miss..
I have seen the light my brothers, i have seen the light.
The call of Wolves, the glamour of Liverpool a left in my wake. FM05 was losing it shine quickly at the sharp end of the football league.
That my brothers is when the i heard the call of St James Park, not the behemoth of a stadium in the North East but the run down shack in the fine city of Exeter.
The non existant transfer budget, the awful swaud, the abaility to attract not a single decent player to the club. Why did I ever stray for the path?
Season one was a mixed bag of playing like the bag of useless gits we are and well playing slightly better than useless gits we are. Relegation at that first hurdle seemed a harsh reality for Exeter until a late rally, antoher slump and an even later rally squuezed the team out of the relegation zone.
This is fantastic stuff, much better than scrabbling around for 6th place with Liverpool.
A few gems were seemingly unearthed from the transfer market and season 2 was read to roll.
This season was a much more succesful season. The large squad (although a massive drain on finances) gave me enough to challenge on two fronts, for the title and for the FA Trophy.
It was at the tail end of this season that i developed a hatred for all things yellow. Just as it seemed League Two beckoned up stpped that gobby twat Nigel Clough and his band of arseholes know as Burton Albion. Not content with a 3-0 league win with 3 games left that effectively cost us 1st place in the conference they then proceed to dump us from the play-offs 1-0 on aggregate and beat is in the FA trophy final 1-0. Heres hoping they win the damn playoffs so im shot of them for good
Anyway a good season but ultimately dissapointing. With teams like Hull and Cardiff sniffing around some of players i might get the same chance again. Back to the drawing board I guess or the transfer market.
