Default Who to be...help!?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently going through a bit of a dry patch on Fm 08. I have started several games but find it hard to get past a season or two without getting bored.

Can anyone recommend me a good challenge? I've played the usual leagues (england, spain, france etc) and i'm after something a bit different, but addictive. I've recently tried Mexico (5 foreign players only booo!) and i tried in scandanavia...

Thanks for anyones help...

I had a lot of fun playing Rangers and CSKA Moscow. Fairly easy to dominate the domestic leagues, but Europe is a challenge.

Also played my hometown FC Dallas for a season or two in Major League Soccer, and it was okay.

Thanks for the post dregganor. Hasn't the Russian league got a foreign player rule? No more than 5 foreign players or something similar?

I can't recall. Russia has a lot of good young talent though, you would be fine.

be a small team or a low league side because its a challenge and the wins feel so much better

Try one of the swedish teams. It kept me interested for atleast 20 seasons. I was Elfsborg on fm07. Managing Burton Albion at the minute...lower league management is also entertaining.

You can't go wrong with Lower League Management!
I took a team from the Blue Square South to League 1 (where we are right now), and now I'm missing the lower leagues again - it's how good it is to manage in them!

Holland don't have any foreign players or work permit restrictions, so as you're complaining about those, it's a good place to go (I think it's Holland, may be Belgium).

As for LLM, you can use Frank, a lower league team generator. There isn't one for 08, however, you'd have to use the 07 version.

Going to the Good Player and Team Forum, you will find a lot of threads about the advantages of different teams, give that a try.

In Russia you have to have at least 8 Russians in your match-day squad including subs.
