Default Hmmmmm

I've searched the forum but cannot find anything that has been of any help so please excuse me if this question has been posted before.

I was a bit of a plum today and mistakenly tried to update FM2008 with the 7.0.2 FM2007 update !! Don't ask.....

Anyway soon realising my error I decided that the best thing to do would be to uninstall all FM2008 files (keeping training schedules and tactics in a seperate folder) then reinstalling from my disc then updating to 8.0.1 so that I was back to square 1.

However after reinstalling I cannot get passed the splash screens !! I took note of the advice in the "Having problems with Football Manager 08" thread and checked my graphics settings and all is up to date.

How come it's not working now when it's been working fine since I got the game on the release date ?!??!

I'm blinkin confused !!

Best I can suggest is wiping everything FM related off your system, then try to re-install from scratch.

Good idea would be to put the patch download on a cd first though so you don't have to download it again.

BTW - your mod warning has expired, so might be worth contacting them to get it removed from your profile.

Right after about 6 or 7 uninstalls and reinstalls it seems to get to the frontpage. I've not done anything different on each installation cycle so although it is now OK I'm still a little baffled !! Nevermind.

Also I'll keep the mod warning there as it was handed to me after I critised the game - reminds me that you should never disagree with those tough brutes at SI :-)

Do a complete clean uninstall including hidden files and the registry and then try again

A more descriptive thread title would also be good if you want others to read your thread and help.

If you can't find an answer here, look in the bugs forum (it's for crashes as well!). If there isn't an answer already there, you can post there and one of the testers may be able to help you.
