Default Problem with Vista?

I have just installed FM2008, im running Vista Premium, however it didnt install it in the start menu and didnt creat a desktop icon, therefore to run the program I have to go to Computer->Programs->Sports Interactive->Football Manager->fm.exe and start it here.

Surely this isnt right? Shouldnt it show Sports Interactive in the Start Menu??

when i got my new laptop i went straight home and put FM on it straight away, but it seemed to load everything apart from the database, so i just uninstalled it, turned restarted and tried again, and seemed to work

Maybe try that!

Ive just done a search (I know I should have before I posted) and apparently it doesnt install to the start menu, so Ive just created a shortcut on the desktop which will do. Just find it odd myself!!

In Vista, FM creates an entry in the "Games" folder. Open the start menu. On the rightyou'll see an entry called "Games." Click on it and you'll see a special folder that is supposed to list all installed games. Currently, only two titles that I've purchased show up in that folder by default (FM and Unreal Tournament 3). Otherwise it's just populated with minesweeper, solitaire, et al.

All ya have to do is go to the folder where FM is installed, go to FM.exe, right click on it and choose 'create short cut' and place it on desktop. Hope that helps

Might sound daft, but have you checked for the quick start buttons on the toolbar at the bottom. I also have Vista, and when I installed it created a quick-start there.
