There are a bunch of players i try to sign at every club and usually succeed as when i leave a club, they are chucked in the reserves!
Tommy Spurr - First i snatched him from Sheffield Wednesday to my Sheffield United squad, he played 30+ games in the championship and was in the team of the year. He went on to make +50 starts in two premier league seasons and was Fans Player of the Year. I leave the club and he is instantly put in the reserves! And there is no-one to replace him.
Jamie Ward - This one may surprise some people but i get him early at the Blades and give him a few starts before sending him on loan. When we are promoted he becomes a Northern Ireland regular and first choice Blades backup. He made 35 appearances over 2 premiership seasons and scored 27 league goals. Then when i leave he wins his 18th Cap and scores his 21st internation goal but dropped to reserves. (His stats are good now)
Mark Little and Mark Davies - both from Wolves and first team regulars. Both have had England call ups but they too find themselves in the reserves.
Ashley Chambers - England U-21 International with England call up. Scored 18 goals in 16 premier league appearances before put in reserves before being sold to tottenham for £5,500,000.
Is it just me who thinks these players are good? Have any of you bought these players?
But the fact is, there stats are easily good enough at the current point to slot into a premiership first team, so why is the new gaffer dropping them and playing either worse palyers, kids or others out of position?
ive read a few instances of this recently where players who have managed to break into international teams/squads subsequently get dropped to the reserves when the human manager leaves the club.
Maybe the players reputation stat isnt being boosted up enough by the call-ups?
