Default Widescreen - such a simple thing

I'm a fan of 08, I like the new touches and have no real problems with the match engine or the other gripes everyone has.

One thing I don't understand is why some of the simple stuff is left out. I just bought myself a 22" widescreen moniter and because I read these forums and know about putting the extra command in the shortcut target I know how to make the window fit my 1680 * 1050 resolution. What about those that don't read these forums? Would it have been so difficult to make it so you can change resolution in game, it's clearly capable of 1680 * 1050 so why not have the options changeble in game?

Another thing i'd like to see is to make some of the panels resizeable.

Please share, I got a 22" recently and I hate that my windowed mode is cut off on the sides.

You can run it in full screen mode well if you put

-fullscreen_width=1680 -fullscreen_height=1050

At the end of the target part of the shortcut properties (changing the numbers where appropriate)

The full target will read something like

"CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -fullscreen_width=1680 -fullscreen_height=1050

It does fit Vista perfectly tho when windowed on a 22" widescreen on account of the sidebar.
