Work Permit related Feeder Clubs

I've done a brief search and couldn't find anythign specifically related to my answer but im sorry if ive missed something. Anyway, on to my query...

I want to sign Arshavin for an English Club in the 2nd season, he won't get a permit and therefore has to go to my Polish feeder club if I want to buy him for 3 seasons to get EU nationality. However, if he accepts moving to the Polish club, which he quite possibly won't I imagine, can he becoem eligible for a permit before the three years is up? If he plays enough internationals for Russia I mean, or am I better to hang on until hes played more matches (29 caps so far) and try to get a permit for him straight away, avoiding feeder clubs?

I think it's highly unlikely he'll want to go to a Polish feeder club for three years. But I also wonder whether you'd really want to send him away for three years, given that he's 25 or 26 at game start. Signing him and hoping he gets enough international caps is risky strategy, though. If he's not playing football, will Russia keep on picking him?

Best thing to do is wait until he has enough international caps to get that work permit.

i think full internationals usually have to have their permits appealed, but are sucessfull.

also, you can offer him a contract during, for example, the second loan season to see if he will be given a permit.

i don't buy non-eu players at arsenal, so i can't say anything from experience. if i do, they are usually under 24 and sent to Beveren (belgian feeder club).

It doesn't let you appeal if you've got a feeder club does it? Just lets the transfer go through on the grounds that he can get one that way. I cancelled the transfer as I wasn't paying £6.5m for a player to go on loan for 3 years and possibly not sign a new contract and leave for free when he's got one. Ill sit it out and try and ger thim in January or next summer maybe. Might sack the feeder team off aswell I never use them.

as i said, i hardly buy non-eu players, so i honestly didn't know about that. don't cut the feeder team, you will always need it more than you think.

all i can suggest is that you look for an alternative EU player.

I have never yet made proper use of a work permit feeder team. I don't have the patience to wait 3 years for some non-EU player to get a work permit when I may have advanced the club far beyond a level where I'd want him in 3 years or I could just sign EU players or those who can get a work permit instead.

I regurlarly use feeders for permits for young south americans and it works a treat!

However, with Arsharvin, i just tried signing him on a free transfer, yet his work permit application and appeal were rejected - yet he has over 50 caps and is a regular with Russia. I've had the same problem with a Nigerian player who was consistently in the team and had over 40 caps!
Is this some sort of bug?

i think i've got a spanish feeder, so i'm not fussed about buying from argentina etc, but only 18-21 y/o players.

but i would even look for EU national players based in non eu countries.

forgot to mention, i tried to sign and aged shevchenko for my championship team, as he was released from chelsea in 2011... but the permit was refused, which is strange, as he's still a full international and he has lived in england for 5 years by 2011.

i prefer the old fm07 automatic acceptance of dual nationality to this version.

dont forget he has to accept being eligible so he might not want to have british passport same prob in real life with americans they can only hold usa passport as long as that is the only one they have (if you know what i mean)
