Default How am I supposed to keep my reserves fit in Italy?

There's no reserve league. Why isn't there an option in the game to let the assistant manager schedule friendlies instead of forcing me to manually create 30-odd friendlies per season?

I sometimes forget to create these friendlies and end up having to play players with a severe lack of match fitness when the chips are down. I shouldn't even be doing this, even though I forgot to schedule matches.

Maybe this should go in the Bugs forum, but I'm curious what you guys think about it.

You shouldn't have to worry about that. They play pretend games. At least my Atlético B team does. And it should be the same in Italy.

It's not really a bug as there is no reserve team structure in Italy. Most of the players they have in reserve are loaned out if they aren't needed. That being said, I'm sure the teams will arrange bounce games to give match practice for some players.

I think the main issue here is the awkwardness of creating friendly matches as it's a bit of a chore at the moment and could be made a lot more user friendly.

I play in Italy a lot and I usually end up arranging a bunch of friendlies each month on Mondays. I'm pretty sure you could set a reminder in the Notes section to arrange friendlies each month. That's about the best you are going to get for now.

We are aware that it's an area that is in need of improvement though, so hopefully we'll be able to make it better in future versions of the game.

You are aware you can stick a couple of players in the youth team right?

I don't mind doing this but I can imagine alot of people will find booking a season's worth of friendlies a bore, especially as teams can reject and you'll have to backtrack.

It would be nice if you could pick a date, select so many teams then press enquire. A news report would come back the next day which ticks next to the teams that are available and willing, then you'd simply pick one team and press arrange. It would bring a higher rate of success arranging friendlies.

Autobooking a tour would be a nice option aswell, pick the country, pick the level of teams, select a date range and click okay. Your assistant would do it all for you. Takes the fun out of picking your own friendlies but would be perfect to do once a month for your reserves.

Maybe just make it an extension of your Assistant arranging friendlies for you?

Yep and the reason is the lack of a reserve league.
