Default When should I let players have a 'free role'?
Usually I'll give it to an AMC, but how do I know if he's any good at it?

If you look at the rest of your team, then look at this guy and think 'sh!t he's good!' then chances are he's good enough for a free role, provided he has the required creativity/flair/off the ball.
