I'm playing Weegie update with Rangers just now as I am a Rangers fan.
Played half the season, am in January, topping the league, still in 2nd round of CL, still in League Cup semis and still in Scottish Cup 3rd round.
Only players I have left in my first team or under 19's are British, any foreigners left at the club are transfer listed in the reserves.
So far the only players I have bought have been from the Scottish leagues except for one youngster from Norwich called Cave-Brown.
My policy is working well for me so far as I'm topping the league (granted not that hard), still in all the domestic cups (granted not that hard) and still in the 2nd round of the Cl (having defeated Valencia and Schalke in the group stage!).
Almost agreed a deal for Giles Barnes though and hopefully Johnny Evans from Man U about the follow.
As for signing superstars in the Scottish league, I think its a case of spending 1-2 years building up your reputation in Europe and then after that the stars will be more willing to come. Just keep persisting mate and eventually your club will appear more attractive to the big name players provided you have been achieving success.
