Well surely it depends on what the salary of the player is, and what percentage your club is liable for.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but what I mean is what percentage do you pay? What can you get away with?

Depends, if it's a low salary i would pay all of it but if he's only decent but has a high enough salary I offer 10% at a time until they accept.

when you approach to sign the player on loan, theres a drop-down box near the top where it says wage contribution, so you can set it yourself. the board will place a limit on your contributions though

I always try and get away with paying nothing as my opening gambit. Last season all my loans got accepted at that level. This season I had to offer 20% for Sunderland to accept (well actually I didn't try 10%, just went straight from 0 to 20%) on the same two players as the previous season. Only one of the two players agreed to join us this year though

Me too. I find that 9 times out of 10 the deal goes through without any problems. This works with both big and small clubs.

Always 0 for me. Sometimes you have to offer more though.

This offer can also be affected by how many other clubs are interested in this same player. If you are the only club...good for you. If you are one of 10, then your chances for a free loan are more limited.

Also, the length of the contract as well as the current financial status of the club seem to have something to do with how much they want from me regarding loans.

I just send in the offer without looking at this, and then if it is rejected for this reason, I'll look at it and usually offer as much as I can, as allowed by my board. About 1 in 5 times I have to make a wage contribution.

Also, it depends on my club. If I'm at a BSP/BSS club, I'm not likely to make a contribution. If I'm in the Championship loaning from the Premiership, I'm more likely to make the contribution rather than withdraw the offer.
