alright lads calm down
I'm managing Scun'thorpe and play an attacking 4-4-2 formation, at home I play the following:
Mentality: Attacking (one bar up from normal)
Passing Style: Direct
Tempo: Normal (2 bars above half way)
Time Wasting: Rarely
Width: Very wide
Focus Passing: Down both flanks
Everyting else stays at half way.
Away from home I change too:
Mentality: Normal (1 bar above from defensive)
Passing Style: Direct
Tempo: Quick
Time Wasting: Rarely
Width: Very Wide
Focus Passing: Down both flanks
Counter Attack
I won promotion in the first season finishing 2nd without signing a single player. But can I stress this tactic works so effective with the players I have, I use direct to get the ball up to the front 2 as quick as possible (Sharpy and Keogh) arguably the best 2 in that league. Away from home I sit back allow them onto me and try hit them quickly.
Lads, if you go a goal down/up do you change? I must change team instructions at least 3-4 times per game, i.e played Brentford at home and was down to 10 and getting beat 2-0, switched from my offensive tactic and allowed them to come onto us, when they did this I switched to hitting them on the break (which I don't do at home only against the big teams) and ran out 5-2 winners.
I moved upto the championship and brought in around 12 players, Keogh's min fee was activated that I had set and he moved on for £5m. Eddie Johnson and Keigan Parker were drafted in for a total of £2.7m. Anyway the tactic struggled I lost my first 2 games, thought I had been cracked by the AI but it turned out my players were just gelling, reaping the rewards now lifted the team upto 7th in the league after 10 games.
Loving it at the mo
Hope it helps...
