turn it upto 11 is infamous around these parts
Default new rules

Just looking at the new subs rule and noticed something from way back about champions league.

They were letting 1st to 3rd place in and one for the fa cup winner and giving more automatic places to poorer footballing nations. This if it did happen completely passed me by and when watching the fa cup on telly alan hansen hasnt been talking bout it every ten seconds, and care to to shed any light on this for me
nice one in advance.

The cup winners thing was scrapped, it appears that only Platini thought it ws a good idea.

IIRC, the idea about cup winners was thrown out. The cup winners gaining a Champions League place was generally unpopular, despite the fact that it makes more sense then having the 4th placed team in the competition.

As for the more places going to weaker nations. I couldn't see this ever happening. The bigger nations would kick up a fuss, and then sponsorship money would most likely decrease because of the fall in quality. Football is all about money nowadays. You only need to look at the current Champions League format, and the proposal for each Premiership team to play a 39th league abroad to see that.
