Default new patch

yesterday, started a game with Liverpool, have spent an hour or so on it getting the coaching staff right etc etc, i have updated the data myself

would it be noticably better to download the 8.0.2 patch and start a new game or simply download it and see what changes will go into the game in play (e.g - board confidence)

The patch is save game compatable. So if you're not bothered about the updated date then you won't have any problems.

However, if you've only just started a new game, and 'only' spent an hour on it then it might just be easier to start again?

Posted by DaveRH (whose been on the forums since 2002 so probably knows more about the effect of patches than I do) in this thread http://community.sigames.com/eve/for...1/m/4232058083

The rule of thumb:

changes which affect the database need a new game start (i.e. new data, changes to the db structure). If you don't restart you don't see the benefit.

Changes which deal with longer term issues (board confidence, morale, records etc) are best served with a new game, but you will eventually see effects in older saves.

Changes which deal with the match engine will instantly appear.
