Default New game won't load on Vista Home Basic whatever I do!
I installed FM2008 (8.02 patch as well) on Vista but when I choose the leagues to play a new game it gets stuck on 'loading game database' for ever!!! I read the topic 'having problems with FM08? - Before you post look here' and it says just wait to load. I waited for half an hour and nothing happened!
Please help!
Ah! My PC is 1 week old!!!

If there's lots of leagues, it'll get there - it hasn't crashed it just thinks it has.

Leave it alone for 10 minutes and get a cup of tea.

What are the specs of your PC?

Is it a desktop or a laptop?

How many leagues/divisions have you loaded?

Do you have any other programs running in the background (including mp3 players or downloading programs) ?

Do you have any antivirus programs running?

I left it for 30 minutes!!!
Its a desktop with AMD Athlon Dual Core processor.
I loaded 2 leagues.
Only my antivirus (avast home) was running.
It gets stuck saying loading game database.
plaese help...

Have you tried updating your graphics card driver?

If not, would be worth trying.

Also, try disabling Avast's on-access scanning feature (or quit it completely) and try again.

You were right. my antivirus was blocking it because i had put the protection on HIGH!

It can be frustrating trying to get things to work when nothing seems to be wrong.
