Workaround for interfering chairman I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but it only just occurred to me, after several years of playing, when the chairman accepted a bid barely over the value of a future prospect on my behalf.
To try to prevent this happening, particularly when you're in one of the larger leagues, or if you have a player that is wanted by a lot of players, if the chairman accepts a bid, offer him to clubs for free.
If he's in demand (as my player was), you'll be inundated with bids (I had 24). Accept them all, and the chances are that he'll choose to sign for one of the teams bidding for free. Then, cancel the deal. Interfering chairman gone.
I understand that this can unsettle some players, and make some unhappy, but it should pass fairly quickly, and then you can offer him a new, long contract to appease him.
That way, you can keep all your star players! Yay!
Sorry if this has been raised before - a quick search didn't produce anything. Also apologies if this has occurred to a lot of people before, and I'm just stating the obvious. As I said, this is the first time this has ever occurred to me, after three years of playing FM. |
