Is anyone here Man Utd? If so, have you lot tried using Queiroz's formation/tactic. I've won 12 in a row with it. Its like the perfect blend between attack and defense. You hardly ever concede(even when the AI uses that 4-2-4 formation). Also, the opponent 85% of the time only gets 1 shot per game, which is off target. Is this a bug or an error? Or have I just hit the jackpot?

Just go on holiday and uncheck the middle two boxes - he selects your team and formation. All you need to do is use United's budget to buy the players for that formation. Its 4-2-3-1 with the two centre mids going back into dm.

yea, see what u mean now. its basically the formation portugal played in the world cup. every formation has its advantages and disadvantages though.

its a pretty sturdy formation, where you dont tend to leak that many goals and you have some decent build up play. many of this build up play doesnt result in goals though and most of your goals will probably be from throwins and set plays.

i like this formation, you dont need to tweak it that much usually either as its a fairly controlling formation.

i still prefer the 442 though as it is the formation with the most balance all over the pitch, it just requires a hell of a lot of in match tweaking.

all it is, is a modified 451. i like it though and it suits the talent in my squad so i might use it alot this season. thanks for the advice j20! if u wanna see it in 3d play as portugal on pro evo and it is that formation.

i really like the comparisons you can make between real football, pro evo and fm. this version is very realistic

Why use your assistant's tactics?

Surely the whole point of this game is to manage the club your way.

Asking your assistant for advice is fine, but the games far more satisfying when you develop your own tactics and training instead of relying on your assistant.

jsm, you'd be surprised how much asst managers contribute to a team's success in rl. A good example is Ten Cate when he was at Barcelona - they ended up winning La Liga and CL, largely thanks to him, but FR somehow got the credit. I'm using the Quieroz's formation as it seems to be the best one for my team and the players i have (lots of defensive players and only 3 strikers). I am satisfied, because I am winning, and winning comfortably. Allowing Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs to only have 1 shot in a match is EXTREMELY satisfying.

Golaxi, surprisingly most of the goals (for me anyway) have come from long shots and rebounds from long shots. I haven't tweaked it, seems pretty solid already - if its not broke, don't fix it

I didnt selec anything, went on holiday, made sure it was all unticked and he used a crappy 4-4-2 which left him 5th after 5 games.....what am I missing
