The Martyrs
Long time follower of the LLM way, first time poster, go easy on me guys!
Loaded all divisions from England, Scotland, Italy, and Spain. 2007/08 - Cambridge City - Blue Square South
Started unemployed, holidaying until finally being given a job with Cambridge City in the BSS.
They were in a pretty desperate position, 10 games to go, rock bottom with a sorry looking squad. Anyway we had a go and I managed 12 points but it wasn't enough and we were eventually relegated with a game to go. Obviously a sacking followed and I began the search for my next club.

I didn't have to wait long before the Martyrs took a chance on me, newly promoted with no players (other than a few youths). The board wanted me to enjoy participating in the division (not really sure what that means!), I was hoping to stay up in the division as attracting signings was proving difficult. We started badly and hovered around the relegation zone all season before a good run at the end of the season got us up to a respectable 8th.
One of the original youths proved the saviour with some crucial goals, and a league 2 standard pacey striker who joined on loan was another big player for us.

The board wanted a top half finish which worried me slightly but I went along with it. More loans brought in because of the non existent transfer fee, including the same pacey striker from last year. The result?
An almost identical season to the last one (yawn) saw us yet again struggle before going on an even better run towards the end of the season (well in the sense that we ended up with 1 more point!).

The board again were after a top half finish and with the capture of the pacey striker on a free and a solid centre half I was confident going into a season for a change. Another good signing for the future had my mouth watering as my scout predicted he'd be a league 1 player one day, I decided to blood him in a few games this season and he didn't disappoint.
We were solid from start to finish, our defence had the best record in the league, unfortunately the attack didn't and we hovered around the playoff places all season. The highlight was the November MOTM award. A win in our last game guaranteed 4th spot.
An absolute horror show in the playoffs semi finals against Billericay saw us crash out 7 - 1 on aggregate, and saw me attack a pile of clothes close by in frustration.
