Season 2007/2008
Started game as Torquay manager in BSP. Decent side with aspirations of a mid table finish. Anyways I dibbed into the market early on with mostly free signings due to only a 32k budget which was spent rather quickly as I brought in 12 players for the money.
Season started brightly as my new striker got of to a good start scoring in excess of a goal a game as my team started to click.
Anyways surpassing all expectations I was lying in a play off position going into the new year mostly through my new striker who had entered the 20s in the goal scoring charts.
However as my squad was starting to lack fitness and fell 9 points behind the automatic promotion spot. Luckily my scout found a couple of free transfers interested in joining so I gladly snapped them up and started rotating my team. Promptly going on a 20 game unbeaten run that pleasently surprised me. First place dropped points and I was sitting 3 points behind with a game in hand which I won to go top on goal difference. (Thank you striker, over 30 goals now in March)
Rest of the season panned out the same and surprisingly I will now be playing League 2 football next year!! Wahey!

Side note: Did well in cups, Setanta Shield losing finalists, FA Cup 3rd Round, FA Trophy 2nd Round. More hinderence than help really as players tired out quicker.
Also aformentioned striker won top scorer with 36 league goals, 48 in 58 overall!
Next season, survival paramount.
(On a more depressing note balance is 3.9M in red, dunno how but hopefully some high profile friendlies might help.
