Rep Power: 10 Supporting: Chelsea Footballers: Gianfranco Zola, John Terry | Solution to the Gerrard Lampard debate The fact is that over the years Gerrard and Lampard have played 33 times together for England with only 6 losses in that time. Not a bad record at all. They can play together and its only fickle England fans who are using Lampard as their latest scapegoat. Its ridiculous when you consider that England supporters voted Lampard as England's best player two years in a row.
The other option is to play a 4-1-4-1 formation. So play four at the back with Hargreaves playing in front of the defence and behind Lamps and Gerrard with one striker up front, probably Owen seeing that Rooney is unavailable anyway. That would allow Gerrard and Lamps to get forward when needed to support the striker. It aint rocket science but with the lack of brains and ideas in the England camp it probably won't happen |
